Work With Us
We are actively hiring the world's best talent. If our mission resonates, we would love to hear from you.
Why this work
The problems Ultra works on — space security and societal resilience — have no adequate software yet. The incumbents are not building with the depth or pace required.
If you believe the best technical people should be working on the hardest problems, and that doing so shouldn't require accepting below-market compensation or institutional bureaucracy, Ultra was built for you.
How we work
Our ideal teammates are kind but candid, opinionated, and wildly curious.
We prioritize in-person collaboration at our office in New York City. Some of the hardest problems in defense and resilience are best solved shoulder-to-shoulder with teammates who challenge one another every day.
In tech industry fashion, we are anti-hierarchical: the best ideas should always win, and every person at Ultra should contribute.
Our operating principles center around deciding quickly and adapting as we learn.
We believe in tech industry compensation and equity-based upside in Ultra's performance. While altruistic in countering dangerous technology risks, we are creating paths for the brightest minds outside pure philanthropy or research by building products, not just publishing white papers.
We hire across software, systems, product, security, and operations. We don't always advertise every opening — if you believe you can advance our mission, introduce yourself and we will route you to the right conversation.
